Prof. Luke N. Brewer received his Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering in 2001 at Northwestern University, IL, USA. He has experience in both industry and academia. He was promoted to Professor in 2021 in the Metallurgical and Materials Engineering department at the University of Alabama. His main research is focused on advanced manufacturing and repair methods for metallic structures. Associate Research Professional
Dr. Lorena Perez received her Ph.D. in Materials Science in 2020 at the CINVESTAV, Mexico. Her dissertation work was on Cold Spray of nickel-based superalloys. She was a one-year visitor Ph.D. student at the Helmut Schmidt University, Germany working with Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil Thomas Klassen in the Mechanical Engineering department. Currently, Lorena’s main research is focused on processing metallic powders by gas atomization, repair of metallic structures by Cold Spray, and by Laser Assisted Cold Spray. Munsu Kim is a PhD student in the department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering at the University of Alabama. He received his Bachelor and master’s degree in Marine System Engineering at National Korea Maritime and Ocean University (KMOU) from South Korea. He served as marine engineer officer in liquified natural gas carrier and training ship of KMOU. His main research is focused on improved corrosion and mechanical properties of cold sprayed Al-Mg alloys. |
